ABOUT PSYCHOLOGY AND THE STUDENT COUNSELLING CENTRE
The Student Counselling Centre at UBT is a place, which takes care of the students’ general wellbeing. The aim of Centre is to provide the students with a safe, understanding and confidential environment, in which they are able to express their concerns. It offers professional support in helping students explore and understand the source of the difficulties they are facing, building effective skills for overcoming stressful situations, gaining emotional resilience, and reaching their full personal and academic potential. Based on the abovementioned concept, the aim of Summer Academy 2018 is to join the theoretical and practical aspects in the field psychology. The topics covered in this Summer Academy are designed to offer participants with theoretical background of many psychological concepts, with the main theme of Resilience, as well as strengthen their skills for overcoming adversities and becoming more resilient.
THE PROGRAM CYCLE PROCESS
The Academia will cover different topics under the realm of the main theme—Resilience. Among main topics discussed will be the concept of resilience and main threats to it, such as: developmental issues, major life events, chronic stress, natural Disasters, wars and human caused disasters, psychological disorders, trauma. The Academia will focus greatly in effective ways and techniques for overcoming difficulties and restoring and maintaining resilience, such as seeking help and support and networking.

TARGET GROUPS
Undergraduate students finishing their 1st year of studies and those currently on their 2nd and 3rd year of studies in any field. Priority is given to students of Psychology and any Medical Field, such as Nursing. Masters students in any Psychology program are also welcome.

OPPORTUNITY QUALIFICATION PROCESS; CRITERIA AND READING MATERIALS
All participants that have attended the Summer Academy will obtain Attendance Certifications and those that will pass the organized exams at the end of particular topics will obtain certifications with 2-5 ECTS based on working hours for each topic, respectively.

THE DESIRED OUTCOME
At the end of this event, through lectures, workshops, site visits and other activities, including entertainment, students will gain insightful, theoretical and practical knowledge and skills on becoming more resilient in the face of many life adversities and obstacles.
