SUMMER ACADEMY PLAN
The Faculty of Energy Engineering through its Green Energy Summer Academy gives a unique opportunity to get an exceptional insight into renewable energy sources, the various technologies of harnessing them and how to save the energy captured through energy efficiency. Green Energy Summer Academy, a one week programme, takes place in UBT Summer Academy in the summer of each year. Each week offers a different theme of renewable energy/energy efficiency designed for different target groups taking into consideration their knowledge on the subject and their background.
With an increased interest in other specific subjects of renewable energy, Green Energy Summer Academy 2017 is offering six separate themes. The first theme of overview of renewable energy technology is designed to suit the interest of technicians and non-technicians who want to enhance their career prospects by getting a comprehensive introduction to te various available renewable energy technologies. In the course of the second theme, students, professionals, technicians etc., have the opportunity to obtain either an in-depth know how in both grid-connected and off-grid photovoltaic systems or they can get concise overview of energy efficiency in industry and buildings. A three parallel seminars completes the Green Energy Summer Academy 2017 programme with courses on how to integrate variable renewable energy into the grid or financing renewable energy projects-all two with focus on Wind and PV- or get an in-depth into bioenergy by looking at small-scale biogas plants.
All these are achieved through a blend of up to date theoretical lectures, state of the art practical exercises and field excursions accompanied by a lot of fun and international networking. The “Green Energy Summer Academy” –UBT Summer Academy serves as a platform to study in a team with professionals from many different countries while bringing renewable energy and / or energy efficiency know-how to perfection.
THE PROGRAM CYCLE PROCESS
The Academia will cover topics: Overview of Renewable Energy Technologies, Overview of Energy Efficiency in Industry and Buildings, Grid-connected and off-grid Photovoltaic, Grid Integration of Variable Renewable Energy (Wind and Photovoltaic), Financing Renewable Energy Projects with Focus on Wind and PV, Overview of Bioenergy.
TARGET GROUPS
The students (Bachelor, Master) studying in Natural and Technical Sciences, Mechatronics Management, Energy Efficiency Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, and Architecture.
OPPORTUNITY QUALIFICATION PROCESS; CRITERIA AND READING MATERIALS
All participants that have participated the %50 of the summer academy will take the certificate of participation to the Summer Academy with Renewable Energy and Energy EFFICIENCY- GREEN Energy Summer ACADEMY. At the end of the summer academy the exam will be organized and the participants passing the exam will take the certificate of completion with 2 ECTS. For UBT students these credits can substitute a free elective course in any faculty at UBT depending on the decision of the Dean of the corresponding faculty.

At the end of this event students will gain the knowledge on Summer Academy with Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency-Green Energy Summer Academy which offers the highest potential for efficiency improvement.
